Andrew Smolko
Andy was one of the 2 founding members of The Friends of the New England Marching Arts, Inc. in 2022 and is Board Chairman.
He grew up in NJ where he first marched in several local Drum and Bugle Corps. When his marching career was over, he was color guard and visual instructor for several high school bands, an all-girl Drum and Bugle Corps, and several winter color guards. Over the years he has continued to follow Drum Corps closely and is thrilled to be giving back to this wonderful activity.
For over 35 years Andy worked in various high-tech industries including several semiconductor companies. Andy has a BS Degree from the University of South Carolina in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration.

Matthew MacKay
Matt is a New England-based data analyst and entrepreneur with a passion for spaceflight, aviation, and the marching arts. He performed with the Spartans from 2016–2019 in the hornline and as a drum major and has since instructed multiple high school marching band programs. Following his marching career, Matt has remained actively involved with the Spartans as both an alumnus and volunteer. Matt credits his experience in the marching arts with helping shape his leadership skills, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
Professionally, Matt works in data analytics while also operating several entrepreneurial ventures. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics and an Masters in Business Administration from Assumption University in Worcester, MA.

Brendan LaFlamme
Brendan LaFlamme grew up surrounded by the marching arts. He was a member of the Spartans Drum and Bugle from 1990-1998, and a member of the UMass Lowell Marching Band from 1995-1999. The marching arts were extremely influential in Brendan's sense of discipline, dedication, and team lead approaches to leadership. He has been working in law enforcement since 2000, and currently serves as the Chief of Police for the Hollis Police Department. Brendan also serves on the Board of Directors for Bridges, a local non-profit dedicated to helping victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. He also serves as the Secretary of the Hillsborough County (NH) Chiefs of Police Association.

Keith MacGillivary
Keith MacGillivary first became involved with Drum Corps in 1989 at the age of 15, marching with the Buccaneers, an Eastern Massachusetts Drum Corps based in Lowell. He went on to march three years with the Spartans and one year with the Boston Crusaders, gaining valuable experience and building a strong foundation in performance and discipline.
Building on that experience, Keith spent several years teaching and mentoring, working with multiple drum and bugle corps as well as high school bands during the 1990s and early 2000s. During this time, he helped develop young performers both musically and personally.
Outside of his involvement in the marching arts, Keith has built a successful career in the telecommunications industry, bringing nearly 30 years of experience helping organizations improve connectivity and technology solutions.
Keith has been married to his wife for 22 years and is the proud father of two teenage children. He is passionate about giving back to the activity that helped shape his life and is excited to support today’s youth as they pursue the same meaningful experiences.

Paul LaFlamme
Paul G. LaFlamme Jr. is a Nashua, New Hampshire businessman, arts advocate, and longtime leader in the youth performing arts community. Best known for his leadership with the Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps, LaFlamme has been involved with the organization for most of his life, first as a marching member and later as Executive Director and board leader, helping guide the nationally recognized corps through periods of growth and rebuilding. In addition to his work in drum corps, he has owned and operated businesses in real estate, title insurance, and property management, served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and has been active in Nashua’s arts and cultural organizations including Symphony NH and the Nashua Arts Commission.
